MATAWAI FAREWELL

PARTY FOR MRS. GIBSON (Herald Correspondent.) The Women's Institute room in Matawai was the vsecne of a large gathering of women on Thursday afternoon, when Mrs. C. V. Smith and Mrs. W. Mortleman received 30 friends of Mrs. A. E. Gibson, who leaves next week for England, to bid her farewell. The room was prettily decorated with sweet peas- and Michaelmas daisies, and the guests participated in competitions. After a dainty afternoon tea, Mrs. Smith, on behalf of all present, wished Mrs. Gibson a happy trip and presented 'her with a brown suede leather travelling cushion. Mrs. Gibson suitably replied.
