ASSOCIATION MEETS SENIOR D POINTS ALLOCATION OF TROPHIES The final points in the senior B competition, first division, were announced at last evening's meeting of the Poverty Bay Cricket Association. Mr. J. de V. W. Blathwayt presided over the following: Messrs. W. Stewart, A. Bignall, R. H. Cook, J. Craw-ford-Smith, P. H. Dow, G. Revell, W. J. Wilkie, and the secretary, Mr. D. A. Wells. The points arc as follows: —Gisborne Club, 90: G.H.5.0.8. Blues. 88: Civil Service, 85; Marist, 76: High School A, 55; United A, 36. A request for used cricket balls, on behalf of the Muriwai School, was acceded to, Messrs. Blathwayt and Bignall offering to supply one each. Permission was granted to the Marist High School to send its junior team to To Karaka to play the District High School. The junior grade final between Marist and High School > will be played on April 1. Allocation of Trophies The allocation of three trophies not competed for last year was made as follows: —Cranney Cup, winners Senior B, second division; Miller Cup, runners-up, second division; Loisel Cup, runners-up in junior grade. Messrs. Chrisps, Limited, advised thai they would he offering a trophy i'oi annual competition,and the secretary was instructed to confer with the donors as to its allocation. The executive decided to hold the annual dinner and presentation of trophies in the Le Grand Cafe on Saturday, April 1, at C. 30 p.m. Play in all games on that date will finish at 5.30 p.m. In view of the representative games at the week-end, all club matches are cancelled. For the following Saturday, April 1, clubs are asked to endeavour to arrange their own matches and to advise the secretary of these fixtures. No set club games will be played. It was decided to close the practice wickets for the season. The final File Shield game for the season will be played at the weekend, when the Gisborne Refrigerating Company, will meet a challenge from the Bignell and Holmes' team.
