CARS COLLIDE
FOUR PEOPLE INJURED
PALMERSTON X. MTSHAP Four people were injured, two of them seriously, when the motor cars in ' which they were travelling collided head-on five miles south of Palmerston North on the road to Wellington about 11 o'clock on Saturday nigh:. The injured were:— Mrs. Alice Myrtle Browu, aged 34, of New North road, Auckland, fractured skull; condition serious. Grenville Smith, aged 35, motor mechanic, of Palmerston North, fracture of the right leg; conditio not serious. Mrs. Grace Smith, aged 36, fractured skull; condition serious. Eris Smith, aged four, abrasions to the body; condition not serious. The injured persons were, admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital._ The drivers of the cars were Mr. Smith and Mr. W. H. Brown, garage proprietor, of Auckland. The only occupants of the two cars to escape injury were Mr. Brown and his son, Christopher Brown, aged two. The car driven by Mr. Brown was proceeding south. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
