Mr. H. F. Ayson, Resident Commissioner and Chief .judge of the Cook Islands, has arrived' at Auckland on a brief business and health visit to New Zealand.

The retirement of the Rev. A. J. Seamer from the position of general superintendent of the Methodist Church Home and Maori Missions, which, he has held for 17 years, was marked at a meeting of the Home Mission Board last week. The chairman, the Rev. F. Copeland, presented Mr. Seamer with a cheque and paid a tribute to the splendid service which he had rendered to the church. Mr. Seamer will be succeeded in office by the Rev. G. Laurenson.
