'Mr. O. J. Skeet, Hastings, is spending a few days in Gisborne with Mr. and Mrs. W. Campbell, “Sarnia,” Awapuni road, on his way to Auckland and Tauranga on a camping holiday.
The appointment of Mr. W. Hosier, Hastings, as manager of the Hawke’s Bay team for the New Zealand national athletic championships in Napier has been made by the Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay Centre. Mr. A. G. Hultquist, M.P. for the Bay of Plenty, was to meet the Waikohu County Council to-day to discuss district -requirements. He will spend the next few days in the Gisborne and East Coast portion of his electorate, and will address a number of meetings on the Government’s policy in regard to import restrictions and exchange control.
The following passengers travelled bv Union Airways’ plane this morning from Gisborne to Napier.—Mesdames H. Hughes and S. D. Barker; Misses M and A. O’Fee; Messrs. S. E. Gillingham, A. C. Steele, A. T. Coleman, P. Williams and J. 11. Beecher. Inward passengers yesterday included: — Napier-Gisborne. —Mrs. S. Innes-Jones and Master Innes-Jones; Miss M. Hazel hurst; Messrs. R. L. Ma-c Gregor, H. Porter, T. G. Roberts and T. Munro. Palmerston Norlth-Napier .—Mrs. McIntosh. Wellington-Napier.—Mr. J. A. Redpath.
