AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS
DOMINION'S FIRST CAMP REALISTIC EXERCISES The first air-raid precautions camp to be held in the Dominion took place at Otago Heads last week-end, when 80 men took part in intensive training as to their duties should Dunedin be subjected to an enemy air attack. Units represented included the St. John Ambulance Brigade, Legion of Frontiersmen, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Territorials, Boy Scouts and civilian trainees who have been undergoing special instruction in A;R.P. work for the past few months. Various exercises, such as air-raid drill and treatment of injured, and a series of lectures were included on the programme for the first two days and the*camp concluded with a mock air raid on a specially-erected village. A large crowd watched "enemy" aircraft bomb the township, saw the havoc wrought by the gas and was given an excellent conception of the methods of treating the injured. The whole proceeding was most realistic and excellently carried out,
