NORTH ISLAND PROGRESS FINANCES SOUND (Pur Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ this clay. The annual conference of the north New’ Zealand area of the Seventh Day Adventist Church is being held here. Delegates are encamped on the showgrounds. In presenting his report, Mr. R. E. G. Blair, secretary, referring to the progress of the church in the North Island, ?aid a total of 52 persons were actively engaged in full-time service. The membership was 1941, representing a yearly increase of 97 in the last five years. During the nine months ended September 30, 100 persons had been accepted in membership and the numbehad been considerably increased since then. There were 21 church builclngs in the area and two church school buildings. Many new buildings, for expansion of the work were contemplated. , The treasurer’s statement showed that the receipts for the nine months were £11,179, an increase of £621. During the same period, £6924 had been contributed toward mission work. The total credit balance of. £9283 indicated the strong position of the church.
