GREEK TANKER SEIZED
BRITISH-OWNED CARGO PROTEST TO FRANCO (Reed. Dec. 30, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 29. The Daily Herald says that a Lon-don-bound Greek tanker, the Atlas, was seized by General Franco’s warships on the high seas and detained at Palma. Part of the cargo, valued at £IO,OOO, is British-owned and all of it is insured with British firms. Britain is demanding the immediate release of the vessel and is associating with many protests made by Greece.
