UNSETTLED WEATHER
HOLIDAYS ON THE COAST CHECK TO TRAVELLERS (Special to tin) Herald.) TIKITIKI, this day. The weather was very unsettled on the Coast for the holidays. Heavy rain was experienced at Hicks Bay, Te Araroa and Tikitiki on Christmas day, while Ruatoria and Te Puia Springs enjoyed fine weather. Heavy showers fell on Boxing Day, and a cold southerly wind was blowing. The rivers rose, making conditions unpleasant for touring campers, some of whom intended to journey to Rotorua and Auckland via the Cape route. ,■“ ' / ' . ' There was a heavy. thunderstorm o.n Monday at midnight,-lasting an hour, and the rain had the effect of further delaying the shearing on the Coast! Tuesday was perfect, with not a cloud in the sky.
