(■Reed. Dec. 24, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 23. In a Sheffield Shield cricket game against Victoria, the New South Wales eleven made 294 runs in the first innings. Fingleton contributed 45, Cheetham 42, Chipper-field 66, and O'Reilly 47. (MeCormiek took five wickets for 63 runs and FleetwoodSmith three for 100. Victoria in the first innings has made nine runs without loss.
