SMALLPOX IN SHANGHAI
OVER 350 DEATHS TOLL DURING DECEMBER (Reed. Dec. 24, 10 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Dec. 23. A smallpox epidemic, the worst for 24 years, is being experienced in the Shanghai area. The deaths during December number 331 Chinese and 23 foreigners, including an artificer in the cruiser Suffolk in wMch there were eight cases.
At present there are 1100 cases in the International Settlement.
