DISDAIN'S CHANCES

SUCCESS EXPECTED , By "Trenton" Last year Stretto was the sprint heroine of the Auckland meeting. She won the Railway Handicap with 7.4, was successful the second day with a rise of a stone, and was beaten on the third day with 9.4 only by a neck. With a little more luck in the running she would have completed the treble. The question is: Can Disdain, another brilliant filly, perform accordingly? She has the same weight as Stretto to begin with, will be ridden by the same jockey, and is expected to win on the first day at least. Disdain has only been beaten once in four starts, but' it may be a recommendation for the Railway Handicap that she was too brilliant, to win the Oaks over a longer distance.
