CRECHE CHILDREN OUTING
"Fines" paid by members of fie Gisborne Rotary Club throughout the year and which have accumulated in the "Sunshine" box will be '];awn on during the Christmas period tc help people in poor circumstances. At to-day's meeting of 'he club, presided over by Rotarian J. ?3ich, the club decided tto use up to £2O to provide Christmas boxes. A further £3 will be devoted towards ar. out.ug for children of the Hine Materoa Home, while in addition members were asked to place cars at the disposal of the children and stall for the occasion.
The president, Rotarian J. O. Musgrave, stated that an attempt was being made to secure the replacement of books at the Cook Hospital, and both members and the public were urged to ask booksellers to accept gilts of books or money for hospital librarybooks. Arrangements were reported upon for a "father a'nd daughter" dinner to be held on December 14. The president reported that Gisborne members were invited to the opening of the Dargaville Rotary Cluo, of which the father or Rotarian K. F. Jones, Gisborne, had been appointed president. The club decided to go into recess after the meeting on December 19, ana resume on February 6.
