Attaining a speed of over GO miles an hour on sections of. the 40-mile route, the rail-car Tokomaru impressed 30 guests of 'the Railways Department on a demonstration run from Auckland to Papakura and back this morning. The party included Mr. G. H. Mackley, general manager, and leading railway officials, representatives of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Education Board, Harbour Board and other citizens.

The rail-car was practically free from vibration at any speed. The departmental party left Auckland later for Frank'ton, where they will inspect the proposed improvements to the railway yards.
