Sir Nigel and Otaki led for some distance, but on entering the straight Royal Record, Po’’otiti, and Sir Nigel were together. Won by three lengths; a neck. Time, 2.53 2-5.

Won by two lengths; half a length. Time, 1.16 3-5.

Also started: 3 Cricket 8.1, 8 Dorado 8.1, 5 Accomplice 7.7, 7 Good Sun 7.3, 6 Silver River 7.0. From the start Mea Mea, Dorado, and Accomplice headed a well-bunched field, while Play On and Galteemore joined issue after entering the straight, the former winning by two lengths and a half; two lengths. Time, 2.8 2-5.
Otaki Hack Handicap, of £110; 7 furlongs—l Sigurd, 9.0 (Atkins), 1; 4 Drachma, 7.9 (Wiggins), 2; 3 Ruling Spi, 8.11 (Williams), 3. Also started: 3 War Cloud 8.4, 5 Larwood 8.4, 6 Dunbeath 7.9, 7 Quimper 7.9. From the start Sigurd, Drachma and War Cloud were the first to be prominent. Later Ruling Spi challenged, and in a great finish Sigurd won by a head; lour lengths. Time, 1.28 2-5.

Also started: 2 Alunga 8.12, 1 Aureus 7.7, 7 Lone Raider 7.7, 6 Export 7.7, 8 Omarere 7.0. From the start Omarere, Mittie, Royal Star II and Aureus headed the field. In a good race, Royal Star II won by a head; a lengtn. Time, 1.27 1-5.

Whetuma joined issue and came away before entering the straight, and won by half a length; a length. Time, 1.55.
