BOROUGH IMPROVEMENTS
HAMILTON PROPOSALS £138,000 LOAN SCHEME (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. A decision to take the necessary steps to obtain authority for a poll of ratepayers on a proposal to borrow £138,000 for 20 years for street improvement expenditure to be spread over 10 years was made by the Hamilton Borough Council. The council also decided to take steps to raise loans of £6500 for the, provision of conveniences and £IO,OOO for the extension of the sewer system.
The borough engineer, Mr. R. Worley, was authorised to prepare plans and specifications of a town hall costing, without the site, £25,000.
