Messages from Vienna stale that as a sequel to the attack made during the week-end on the palace of Cardinal Innitzer, the Cathedral of St. Stephen remains closed and is heavily guarded. Cardinal Innitzer lias not left the palace all day, but a leaflet signed by him was distributed surreptitiously urging parents to send their children to religious schools, which is not forbidden, though a new Law has abolished compulsory religious education. The Vienna police have announced the arrest of several of the alleged ring leaders of the rioting which occurred during the week-end. The Vienna correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says there is now an undisguised conflict between the Nazi Party and the Roman Catholic Church. Berlin reports state that British newspapers dated October 10 were confiscated, it was believed because they contained accounts of the attack on Cardinal Innitzcr's palace.
