WAIROA HARBOUR BOARD
OFFICER'S REPORTS (Spucial to the! lh'i'iil'l.) WAIROA, this day. "The arrivals in port were five vessels and the departures five," stated the pilot, Mr. A. Knight, in his report for September received at a meeting of the Wairoa Harbour Board. "The bar was workable on twenty-one days with an average depth, of six feet and the channel running to the west." The report added that all the blackberries on the Whakamahia Reserve and the Pilot Reserve had been cut. The wharf at the Meat Company had been repaired and put in good order. The town wharf had also been put in a good state of repair. "I have to 'report that 14 vessels worked the port during the month of September," stated the wharfinger at Waikokopu, Mr. H. "ri. Hutchinson, in his report submitted at to-day's meeting of the Wairoa Harbour Board. "The port has been workable during the whole month and the beacons have been attended to and are in working order."
