KORANGA FOOTBALL CLUB JOLLY ANNUAL P. ALL (Herald Corrospondpnt.) The Koranga Football Club hold its annual ball in the Matawai Hall on Friday night. Miss Rum's orchestra provided the music. The Koranga ladies served a dainty supper and the duties of M.C. were ably carried out by Mr. G. Phillips. A spot waltz was won by Mr. and Mrs. D. Kcrekere. The hall had been tastefully decorated in blue and while, the colours of the Koranga team. Miss J. Boys had chosen a forest i green cloque taffeta frock; Miss ,T. McPike, midnight blue satin relieved I by pink flowers; Miss J. McDonald, cornflower blue georgette; Miss L. Fielder, yellow bird's eye taffeta: Miss B. Fisher, tangerine Continental lame; Miss M. Fisher* emerald green taffeta: Miss J. Twisleton, pale blue moss crepe; Miss Blake, blue taffeta; j Miss P. Grantham, old gold satin; Miss J. McMahan, figured satin beaute; I Miss D. Adsett, green silk net: Miss j M. Korte, blue moss crepe; Miss D. j Kortc, jade super cloque: Miss M. Smith, apricot moire taffeta; Miss Lihane, blue embossed satin; Miss B. j Farrel, pink hurricane cloque; Miss j Jolly, peach net; Mrs. Malone. black, with red flowers; Mrs. N. Thomas, Moral satin; Mrs. R. McDonald, old rose satin: Mrs. Sinton, black lace; i and Mrs. Harris.

A happy dance took place in the Matawai Hall organised by the Maoris of the district in aid of the Labour Party's funds. Songs were sung by Miss.M. Kokq and the dance music was provided by Mrs. Burbrough.

The committee of the Matawai branch of the National Party held a meeting recently in the Institute room, there being a large muster of members from Motu, Koranga and Matawai. Mr. Hope took the chair. and a pleasant, well-organised meeting ensued. Reports of the Opotiki and Gisborne committee meetings were given by Messrs. G. O. Donovan and H. J. F. Tomblcson. Supper was provided by the ladies, who received a hearty vote of thanks.
