"If we cannot populate New Zealand we do not deserve to hold the country," said Dr. W. R. Fea, of Hamilton, speaking in criticism of the low birth-rate at a meeting in Hamilton to form a Waikato branch of the New Zealand Defence League. Dr. Fea said tire most pressing problem for bettering the defences of New Zealand was to populate the country. "The problem has been avoided by various governments and the matter has now reached serious proportions."
