TENNIS PLAYER WARNED

POSSIBLE SUSPENSION ABSENCE DURING TOURNEY NO REPLY TO LETTERS (Per Tress Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Disciplinary action against a Canterbury representative player, H. Dymond, is contemplated by the management committee of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association. Dymond has been charged with a breach of the rules in that ho, absented himself without reason from the courts for two hours during the Easter tournament and upset a portion of the tournament arrangements. The committee discussed Dymond's position at a meeting at which Mr. J. Mercer presided last evening. The secretary, Mr. S. W. Jameson, reported that he had written twice to Dymond informing him that the matter would come before this meeting and giving him an opportunity of making an explanation. Dymond had not replied. The committee decided that another letter should be sent to Dymond, informing him that unless the association received, within seven days, an explanation or apology, he would be disqualified or suspended for a period and that he would in that case be ineligible for competition games during the period of the penalty. It was decided also to express surprise to Dymond at his failure to reply and to suggest to him that he, as a leading player, ought to set an example.
