GUNS ROAR SALUTES

BIRTHDAY OF THE QUEEN RECEPTION AT ABERDEEN WELCOME TO BALMORAL (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.20 p.m. RUGBY. Aug. 4. In honour of the Queen's birthday a salute was tired at noon at Hyde Park and also bv warships in port and shore fort batteries. There were flags on all public buildings. The Queen spent her birthday in the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert, which with the Royal family arrived at Aberdeen in the afternoon. Aberdeen was gay with flags and bunting and in brilliant sunshine thousands cheered the Royal party as they motored to Balmoral, where a cordial reception was given by a large crowd. The King inspected the guard of honour of the Seaforth Highlanders.
