RAIN AFFECTS ROADS LAMBING LOSSES (Herald Correspondent.) Owing to the continual rain in July the condition of the backblock roads in one Tikitiki district is very bad. Settlers living in one upper part of the Pproporo Valley road have been isolated for some weeks, even for riders, and the children who attend the Tikitiki School have to ride down one riverbed for :some miles, this being only passable when the river is low. A large culvert on the lower part of the road has beep washed out three times and the metalling that was done before the winter has disappeared. There lias been no vehicular traffic on this road for several months. The cold, wet weather is taking its | toll of lambs, one settler reporting aj loss of 20 per cent.
