ROYAL SALUTES FIRED
BIRTHDAY OF QUEEN WARSHIPS BEDECKED (Por Prnss Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The Royal Salute booming out from the guns of the battery at North Head and Devonport naval base at midday, paid tributes of respect to Queen Elizabeth o>n the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday. Ail ships were fully dressed, presenting an attractive picture—H.M.S. Achilles, H.M.S. Leander, the Philomel and Wakakura and also the survey vessel Endeavour. The two sloops were absent on a cruise. The territorial forces fired a salute of 21 guns from North Head. In the city flags were floV/n from public buildings.
