Mr. H. S. Kyle, who has been supervisor at the Eltham Post Office since 1924 and who was formerly on the staff’ at Martou for several years, completed his 40 years of service with the department last week and has retired on superannuation. Almost half a century’s association with the freezing industry in New Zealand was severed this week when Mr. F. S. Candy, who for 24 years has been manager of the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Meat Company, entered upon his retirement. He was entertained at afternoon tea by combined stalls at the Whakatu works and made the recipient of a presentation.
