HOPE TO RISE 15 MILES

PREPARATION BY POLES WORLD’S BIGGEST BALLOON (Reed. Aug. 4, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 3. The Daily Telegraph says that the biggest balloon ever built is being completed in preparation for an attempt in September on an ascent to the stratosphere from Zakpoani, Poland, to an altitude of 15 miles by the aeronauts, Captains Zbigniew Burzynski and F. R. Hynek, of the Polish Army, winners of the Gordon Bennett balloon race in 1933, and Dr. Yodo Natiewicz. .The balloon, which has a capacity of 4,800,000 cubic feet, is 460 ft. high, and has a gondola of aluminium and steel.
