BOYS AND GIRLS’ CLUBS

YEARLING CALVES A. AND L\ SHOW GLASS By “Totara” To assist the calf clubs In their work the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association lias included in its Show a class for “Club” yearlings; that is, yearlings which had been shown as calves at a school calf club parade the previous year. This was one of, the biggest classes in the Show three years ago, but last year the entries dropped to only two. Now, boys and girls, here's a chance for you to show what you can do to build this class up -again. This year the prize-money hap been increased. so that it will be worth your while going to the trouble and expense of sending your yearling in. Mr. McKay, Makaraka, has donated a miniature cup for the winner in 1938, and the committee of the Poverty Bay Boys’ and Girls Club has added another 10s to the prize-money. The prizes are now to be: First, £1 and cup; second, 10s; third, 7s fid; fourth, 2s fid. Club Letters Con Crispin, of the Clydebank School, writes to say that a sweet pea club has been formed. The chairman is Bell McKenzie, and Con is the secretary. “Totara” is pleased to hear of your club, Colin, and wishes you luck. Glad to hear you are finding the notes of use to you. There will he some more later on. Calf Rearing Notes It is hoped to have calf rearing notes started within the next two weeks, so club members should be on the look-out.
