WANGANUI, this day
Prisoners were sentenced by Mr. Justice Quilliam in the Supreme Court to-day Robert John Bayliss, was sentenced to One year's hard labour for unlawful carnal knowledge. Henry Brittain, for failing to stop a car after an accident, was fined £2O and his license was cancelled for a year. The judge remarked that there was no room on the road for hit-and-run motorists.
