TOLAGA BAY RUGBY
TAKAPAU P.EAT GOODLEY'S ftJurald Corr«Bpond»nt.) Takapau Jim. 9 .. Goodley's Rangers 3 Considerable interest attached to the Rugby game in which Takapau juniors defeated Goodley's Rangers by viine points to three at the Uawa Domain, Tolaga Bay, on Saturday, and the spectators were not disappointed, both sides showing good form. The teams were fairly evenly matched, with an advantage possibly to Takapau in their back division. The match started with the Rangers attacking, and holding their opponents for the first half. OfT-side play by Takapau opened the scoring, W. Temiha putting across a good goal. Half-time was called shortly afterwards with no alteration 'to the score. —'Rangers three, Takapau nil. In the second spell the superior condition of 'the Takapau juniors stood them in good" stead, aiid they kept the Rangers in their own territory for practically the remainder of the game. Twice Takapau erosed the line, but tries were disallowed because too many hands were on the ball. Breaches by the Rangers, 'however, gave them three penalties, kicked by T. Craill, C. Nelson and T. Cranswick respectively. Mr. L. Nelson was the referee.
