COASTAL TRADE The Wainui left Gisborne at 5.30 p.m. on Saturday for Dunedin. where she is to commence loading for Napier and Gisborne. She leaves Dunedin to-morrow, works Oamaru and Timaru on Wednesday, and Lyttelton on Thursday, thence Wellington. She is expected here on August 10. The auxiliary scow Altair, which had been delayed in port for several days owing to the stormy conditions on the Coast, left Gisborne this morning for Auckland. The Margaret W. loads at Auckland to-day and to-morrow for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne. She arrives here on Thursday. The Pukeko was due at Auckland this morning from Napier and on completion of loading general cargo to-morrow night sails for Coast bays, Gisborne and Napier. The Pakura leaves Lyttelton to-day lor Waikokopu, Gisborne and Napier. She is clue here on Thursday to discharge general cargo. The Awahou loads at Wellington 10-day and to-morrow for Napier and Gisborne, arriving here on Friday. HOMEWARD LOADINGS Gisborne Roadstead Port Hardy (Pont line; agents, Gisborne Sheepfarmers'i. arrives at Gisborne to-morrow morning to resume her Gisborne loading, which she commenced on Saturday, July 23. The exceptionally rough weather experienced on the East Coast lately has resulted in the ship being able to make only about 2\ days' loading within approximately two weeks. She was delayed first at Gisborne and then at Napier. Zealandic (Shaw, Savill; agents, Common, Shelton and Company) is expected to reach Gisborne on Wednesday from Auckland to load meat and general cargo for London. Ruahine (New Zealand Shipping Company; agents, Union Company) loads meat and general cargo at Gisborne September Hi for London, Avonrnouth, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow. Sails finally Wellington September 28. NEW UNION COMPANY SHIP The Waipori, the new vessel built by the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Limited, was successfully launched on July 28 at the yards of R. and W. Hawthorn, Leslie and Company, Limited, Neweastle-on-Tyne. according to cable advice received by the company. Tiie launching was performed by Mrs. F. B. O'Meara, wife of a member of the company's local board of directors in London. The Waipori is a single-screw oilburning steamer and is intended to be employed in the inter-colonial cargo trade. The vessel's hull incorporates the Arcform design and her principal dimensions are: Length, b.p., 348 ft; breadth, 55ft.; moulded depth, 28ft. tiin.; gross tonnage, 4400 tons; speed, 13 knots. She is expected to leave the United Kingdom about the middle of October, but the route of her outward voyage has not yet been decided.
