By "Trenton" The Gisborne training track this morning was a quagmire and many of the horses engaged on Thursday were unable to do their final gallops. However, Native Song, Mimicry and Gay Mimic went well enough 10 suggest that their prospects on Thursday are bright., A further contingent of visiting horses put in an appearance this morning. They were:—Lovelilt, Pladie, Sunny Lass, Rapa Waiata, Koyai Mimic, and Gaiwind. Sly Fox and Gold Ballad are doubtful starters on Thursday. Makala is engaged in both tne Hurdles and Steeples and as yet no decision has been made as to whicri she will contest, but it will probably be the Steeples. Pefora and Gold Ballad covered four furlongs in I.6sec. Sly Fox moved scratchily over two rounds. ~, ... Pirima and Ballyculane did solul pace work. The latte 1 ' did not appear to relish the going. Hessketoon was going easily alongside Professional over four furlongs in 1.5. Birkology and Syncopate ran half a mile in I.6sec. Native Song (L. Clifford) and Mimicry (P. Atkins) took 52 3-ssec. for half a mile—easily the best of the morning. Native Song had the inside running, but appeared to be doing it the better a t the finish. Gay Mimic was going nicely at tne end of half a mile in 54sec. Lovelilt Throws Rider

The only horses to school were First Hand and Lovelilt. They cleared the first obstacle in good style, but at the second, A. Lord, rider of Lovelilt, lost his seat. First Hand continued on alone and gave a fair exhibition.
