WELCOME HOME DANCE (Herald Correspondent.) Mr. and Mrs. E. Hunter, who were recently married, were the guests ol honour at a delightful welcome home dance, organised by Mr. and Mrs. K. W. Parker, assisted by the members of the Thirty-Thirty Club and held in the Gaiety Theatre, last Friday night. The “Night Owls” orchestra supplied the music. Among those present were Mesdames L. Hoare, J. Penfold, T. A. Hunter and Russell; Misses D. Shaw, R. Manuel, E. Smith, R. Mackey, D. Hickey, I. Smyth, G. Dunn, M. Priestley, A. Russell, D. Smyth, J. Hogan, M. Rawlinson, and P. Dunn. Miss Q. Reedy, who is a trainee at St. Helen's Hospital, Wellington, is spending her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Reedy.—Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Snelling arc spending a few days in Gisborne. —Mrs. H. F. Smyth and her small daughter Dawn are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Jonkers, Remuera, Auckland. —Mrs. N. P. Branson is visiting Gisborne. —Miss Kowhai Hughes, Tikitiki, spent the week-end with her parents, M r . and Mrs. N. C. Hughes, Te Araroa. Mr. and Mrs. M. Q. Gudgeon, accompanied by their son and daughter, arc visitors to Gisborne. —Miss Gwen Ornundsen, of the Native Department, Tikitiki, has been transferred to the Gisborne office. Prior to his departure for Napier, Mr. Jack McGregor was presented with a travelling rug by the staff of Kash Traders, Limited, Ruatoria, of which he was a member.
