Since the recent rain the Public Works men on the Napier-Wairoa road have been engaged in cleaning the slips which in places have again filled up the track opened for traffic. It is intended to continue with the clearing of the road right back to the waterlable as rapidly as possible, but it is expected that it will be 12 months before the road has been restored to its normal order and metalled. There are 100 men working on the route.
