The Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, announced in the House of Commons that, in view of the volume and importance of the work o, the Home Office in connection with the air raid precautions, Earl Winterton has agreed to help the Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, with the work of his departments, both at the Home Office and in the House of Commons, thus enabling the Under-Secre-tarv Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd, to devote practically the whole of his time to assisting the Home Secretary in conducting air raid precautions business.
