WAIKATO STOCK VALUES

RECENT PULE MARKETS

Conditions in the Waikato stock markets are -not buoyant. A large yarding of East Coast and local breeding ewes was on offer at the MorrinsVilie sale last week. The ewes from the East Coast were a good class of sheep and arrived in good condition. Although there was a large attendance bidding was rather restricted and m all cases prices were below ruling for similar sheep at the corresponding sale last year. The local ewes, which ' were mainly of poor quality, were hard to quit, even at very low prices.

With the losses sustained through facial eczema it was anticipated that there would have been a keen demand for ewe and wethers, but prices foi both were disappointing. However, at the winter fair held at Taumarumu there was a keen demand for all good sheep, at prices in many cases m advance of reserves.
