GISBORNE SAVAGE CLUB

ATTENDANCE AFFECTED LAST NIGHT'S KORERO The attendance at the .second korero of the season ot the Gisborne Savage Club was affected last-even-ing by inclement conditions and at times the noise of the rain pelting on the iron roof of the City Hall made it impossible to hear some portions of the programme.

Prio: f o the opening of the programme the rangatira, Savage, L.. C. v Parker, read a telegram from an" old member of the orchestra, Mr... F.. Palairet, wishing the club a successful season. Savage Parker referred to the impending departure of an-' other member of the orchestra, Savage F. Wise, who was leaving on a trip to America. He then gave a short travel talk Of his experiences, on the trip of the ex-soldiers . to Sydney.

The chairman for the evening was Savage J. G. Nolan.

The performance of the, orchestra was up to its usual high standard and the sketches and musical items were greatly appreciated. Apart from (he orchestral selections, Savage P. Hockley contributed a song; anUsickl sketch, Savages R. Maclean, W. A. Bowie, and C. V.. Harre; humorous song. Savage W. B. Keany; piano duo with orchestral accompaniment. Savages W. Kohn and S. T. Lewis.,,

and Green were again the principal vendors, their entry comprising 86 ■well-bred 2i-year Hereford steers; all fit for the freezing works, which realised £8 10s; 49 li-year heifers in splendid order, £4; 21 prime cows, £6 17s.

Oilier sales included: On account of 11. Riddick.—Thirty P.A. breeding cows, £4 lis; 17 weaner heifers, £1 15s; 83 P.A. 2J-year steers, a wellbred, good-conditioned lot, £7 16s. On account of Mr. W. Mortleman. — Twenty-one ljj-year P.A. heifers, £3 18s; 7 2j-year P.A. heifers, empty £4 15s. Oir account of Mr. George Richardson. Twenty-six weaner Hereford heifers, good quality, £3 16s. On account of Mr. F. Read.—Thirtythree, mostly 11-year, few 2J-year P.A. steers. £6; 30, li-year Hereford steers, £5 ss. On account of Mr. C. A. Pilmer. a good line of 48 P.A. 2J-year steers, £7 10s. On account of. Mr. F. Donaldson.—Seventeen fat cows, £5 12s: and 11 store empty cows, £3. 6s. On account of Mr. W. EUmers.— 25 :U-year bullocks, £8 10s. On account of Pinkhey station, 14 1$ and 24-year steers. £5 18s.
