WAIROA DISTRICT HIGH NEW SECONDARY SCHOOL ■ ■ (Special to thß Herald.) WAIROA, this day. "We are very grateful to the Education Department," states the chairman ■of the Wairoa District School Committee, Mr. R. W. Goodley, in his annual report, "for assistance given for ground improvements to the extent .of . approximately* £(150. Although not quite completed, the grounds are proving a great benefit to the welfare of the children."
"The activity of the committee is clearly shown by the remarks of the chairman of the Hawke's Bay Education Board, Mr. G. Maddison, that he finds some new improvement to the grounds on every visit. The committee trusts that the free milk supply soon will be available for the children. "Recommendations are submitted to the department for the erection of a new secondary school of the most modern type. The present building will be converted into a Manual Training School when these alterations are put into effect, which should provide a valuable asset to Wairoa and the district.
