SHEEP DOG TRIALS
BAY OP PLENTY CONTEST GISBQRNE 'SUCCESS The Bay of Plenty Sheep Dog Trials Club held its annual trials at Waioeka, Opotiki. Competitors were present from Gisborne, Raukokore, Rotorua, and surrounding districts. The judge, Mr. F. Reid. of Onotiki, commented highly on the general standard of the work at the triali. G. H. Morice's Spot, from Gisborne, put up a fine performance in winning both the heading events. The following are the results:— Zig-zag Huntaway (26 entries).—F. Mead's Bully (Rotorua), 42 points, 1: Mac Eruera's Nuki (Raukokore), 39 points, 2; F. Mead's Rock, 37J points, 3. Straight Huntaway (25entries).—Mac Eruera's Broad, 41 points, 1; C. J. Gordon's, Roy, 40i points, 2; A. McTavish's Toss (Matawai), 40 points, 3. Long Head (46 entries) ,-G. H. Morice's Spot (Gisborne), 46 points, 1; C. J. Gordon's Pat, 42J points, 2; C. J. Hyland, 42 points, 3. Short Head.—G. H. Morice's Spot, 54J points, 1; C. J. Hyland, 52 points, 2; Q. J. Gordon's Pat, 511 points, 3.
