REFUSED £IOOO A WEEK NEW YORK, Pel). 15 O. O. Mclntyre, a famous New York columnist, who earned £30,000 a year, lias died in New York, aged 52. It is estimated that every word Mr. Mclntyre wrote for the 508 newspapers which printed his 800-word column every day brought him in half a crown. Just before his death lie refused £IOOO a week for a 15-minute broadcast.
