FLOOD DAMAGE Tffernld Correspondent.) The Nuhaka A. and P. Society was unfortunate, insofar that the recent iieavy rain did considerable damage to its property. A large slip occurred On Mr. G. B. Steele's property, adjacent to the showground. A nearby resident he.ard the rumble at 2 a.m. and thought his own house had come adrift, but it was discovered that one end of the dining-room had been swept off its blocks and the sides stoved in. Many tons of debris are deposited inside and on the ground. In all, 11.78 in. of rain fell from Firday morning until Tuesday morning. Mrs. T. McKee and family have arrived home after having had an enjoyable holiday in Ireland.
