The definition of a term “station requirements” was in dispute at a sitting of the No, 1 Transport Licensing Authority in Gisborne to-day. “it might mean anything,” said Mr. E. J. Phelan, who presided. “And judging by the stale of many of our stations at present,” said Mr. J. S. Wauchop. “it might mean anything from a needle to an anchor.” At the close of last evening's service in Holy Trinity Church, a recital was given by the church organist, Mr. Douglas Dyer, assisted by Mr. James Mercer as vocalist. This is the second of a series of monthly recitals to be given in aid of the organ replacement, and at the close, the Rev. K. Liggett, who presided, thanked Messrs. Dyer and Mercer for their efforts. The following numbers were given by Mr. Dyer: Chorale, "Josu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” (BaclD, "Scherzo” (Temaigne), “Humoreske” (Dvorak). “Consolation” (Liszt). “Coronach” (Barralt), and “Grand Choeur” (Salome). Mr. Mercer’s number was recitative and air from “Jephtha,” “Deeper and Deeper Still,” and “Waft Her, Angels” (Handel).
