Borough Streets
Sir.—Correspondents complain of the streets and footpaths in Kaiti and Whataupoko. A visit to the area lying to the westward of Stanley road would show them how bad streets and footpaths can really* become when negfected. Our representative on the council is the Mayor himself, but as most of the members of the council reside "over the river" we have to put up with things as they are just now. What the future will be depends on the next borough election. There is no need to go into details, but every resident of Asquith, Wellington, Albert and Cook streets could give very good reasons for complaint. Take "a stroll along Albert street after dark and you will be lucky if you do not break your neck through stumbling over the holes in the track. Or visit Asquith street on a wet day and enjoy a walk through the kneehigh growth on the paths there. It's about time that the Te Harpara residents woke up and made their weight felt. —Yours, etc., ONE AND ALL.
