NAME REFUSED

WOMAN BEFORE COURT remanded FOR WEEK (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. “Apparently this young woman is following the example of the woman arrested last week, who refused to tell us her name,” said Sub-Inspector Fox in the Police Court, when a woman aged about 25 years was charged with drunkenness in Queen street and using obscene language. The accused pleaded guilty to both charges. When the clerk asked her name, the accused made no reply. “What’s your name?” demanded the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. “I’m not' going to give my name,” said the woman.

Mr. Hunt: Aren’t you? You are remanded for one v/eek.

Addressing the sub-inspector, Mr. Hunt added: “We will have to cure this habit.”
