SHEEP DOG TRIALS
MATAWAI CLUB MEET MR. E. AYLWARD JUDGE The Matawai Sheepdog Trial Club has appointed as judge of its annual field trials, Mr. E. Aylward, well known as a competitor with many successes tit district meetings. Mr. Aylward commenced his career as a judge at the Whatatutu meeting last season, and his services have been sought by a number of clubs, including the Wairoa Collie Club. The meeting at Matawai will be held on March 30 and 31, and April 1, the programme comprising a long head, a short head and yard, and a zig-zag Tiuntaway class. This will be the first gathering of the season in Poverty Bay, the Tolaga Bay and Waimata clubs’ fixtures having been postponed owing to flood damage in uie respective areas.
