EXTRA YEAR IN GAOL WASHINGTON. March 15. A 1 Canone, who was once America’s Public Enemy No. 1, lost his appeal to the Supreme Court to escape having to serve a one-year term in gaol after his release from Alcatraz prison in 1939.
