SATISFACTORY PROGRESS

TOKOMARU BAY, this day.
The quarterly committee meeting of the Tokomaru Bay Plunket Society was held at the Waima barracks on Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. A. B. Williams being in the chair.
A letter was received from the Waiapu*. County Council wishing the newly-formed society the greatest success, and enclosing a cheque for £3. The Waiapu Hospital Board also wrote, but regretted not being able to send a donation. Several small donations from interested people were received with thanks.
It was stated that the garden fete at "Puketiti," the home of. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Williams, haG realised just over £2O, and Mrs. J. L. Grant proposed a hearty vcte of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Williams for their generosity.
A report was read from the Plunket nurse, Sister Preston, who stated that everything was progressing very satisfactorily, but that the visits from now on would be fortnightly instead of weekly, on the second Monday. A dainty afternoon tea was dispensed by some of the ladies. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair, and to Mrs. J. Williams for the use of the barracks' diningroom. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. F. Rolland, P. Murphy and T. C. Smith. Those present were: Mesdames A. B. Williams, J. Boag, R. G. SherwoodHale, W. Collins, S. Bruce, 'J.
