JAPANESE COMB RUINS

The correspondent of The Times at Shanghai states that the Japanese are combing the areas smashed by aerial raids and bombardments collecting everything valuable as scrap metal, which is being shipped to Japan. The municipality estimates that 1000 factories, all private property, have been destroyed. Some of the factories were expensively equipped, but others were primitive.
