PURCHASES OF LAND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Feb. 2., The Government has established a procedure designed to ensure that in-' terests of national importance other than defence shall receive adequate consideration when the purchase of sites for defence purposes is contemplated. The Council for the Preservation of Rural England issued a statement welcoming the Governmeit’s decision, the effect of which will be to create a clearing house before which will come all proposals to buy land for defence purposes before any final decisions are taken.
