The Motuhora School re-opened yesterday with an increase of 14 children. This brings the attendance uji to 32, and consequently a second teacher will be required. Miss C. Fleming has commenced duties at the school, and the chairman has notified the Education Board of the increase on the roll. No permanent appointment has been made at the Whakarau School, one of the senior pupils carrying on until a qualified teacher arrives.
Mr. D. Doole, Hastings, has been appointed sole charge teacher at the Motu School and commenced duties on Tuesday, the attendance being 20.
The rainfall at Marumoko for December was 2.08 in., registered on eight days.
Mrs. H. C. Boys and family are expected home on Thursday from Auckland, where they have been the guests of Mrs. P. J. Parker.
