When proceeding northward from Otaki in his car, Mrt Francis Scorringe, of Wellington, failed to negotiate the rather awkward corner leading on to the Waitahu River bridge, with the result that his vehicle crashed through the rails and came to rest hanging over the bridge in a badly damaged condition. Mr. Scorrinec was accommodated by his wife. Neither was injured.
